A Workplace Defibrillator for Tec Marina

AED sign

At Tec Marina we are committed to providing a happy, healthy and safe working environment for all our residents, and this week saw the arrival of the building’s very own defibrillator.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. The chances of of surviving a cardiac arrest are increased if emergency treatment is given as soon as possible. Almost half of all casualties are successfully resurrected when defibrillation is given in the first four minutes of the person collapsing – so having a defibrillator in the workplace will certainly increase survival chances.

13 Tec Marina residents have undergone training on how to use the defibrillator, to give them the confidence to provide a speedy response in emergency situations.

Red Nose Day at Tec Marina

RND

On Friday 24th March, we joined in the fun taking place around the country for Red Nose Day. Nothing gets Tec Marina’s atrium more full than the temptation of cake and table tennis tournaments, and our Red Nose Day had the two in abundance. We played sweep-stake games, ran ping pong competitions, and held a delicious bake sale. The total money raised around the UK on this year’s Red Nose Day is stand at a whopping ¬£73,026,234 so far – and this figure is still rising! All donations will be put towards transforming lives across the UK and the world’s poorest communities. A great cause, and another fun day at Tec Marina.
