At Tec Marina we are committed to providing a happy, healthy and safe working environment for all our residents, and this week saw the arrival of the building’s very own defibrillator.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. The chances of surviving a cardiac arrest are increased if emergency treatment is given as soon as possible. Almost half of all casualties are successfully resurrected when defibrillation is given in the first four minutes of the person collapsing – so having a defibrillator in the workplace will certainly increase survival chances.
13 Tec Marina residents have undergone training on how to use the defibrillator, to give them the confidence to provide a speedy response in emergency situations.
