Ayoa’s head office raises over £800 for Children in Need 2019

It’s that time of year again – yes, Pudsey Bear is officially back in town. Tec Marina always loves to raise money for the wonderful cause of Children in Need, and this year was no different!
We’re thrilled to say that after over a week of fun and charitable activities, Ayoa and the residents of Tec Marina have managed to raise an impressive £807 for Children in Need.

The week kicked off with the famous Tec Marina ping-pong tournament. Many a game were played, and the final round came down to Tom (from Indigo) and Calum (also from Indigo). And it looks like we have a new champion for 2019, with Calum winning top spot!

The fun didn’t end there – the morning of Children in Need kicked off with a delicious bake sale. Tec Marina residents baked up a delicious storm, with everything from banana bread and lemon drizzle, to dulce de leche cheesecake and even a vegan banana bread with rum and raisin adorning the baking table for 2019. This year, Ayoa’s Charlotte won star baker with her yummy carrot cake.

Next up was a new addition to the Tec Marina Pudsey activities – “rum bowl”. Residents rolled £1 coins to see who could get their’s nearest to a bottle of Barcardi for the chance to win it as a lucky prize. There were more than a few giggles during this wacky take on bowling, and in the end it was a close call – with the tape measure being brought out to confirm the winner.

Over the last week Tec Marina residents have been placing their bets for the name of the giant bear kindly donated by Ayoa’s own Jon. Today it was revealed the bear’s name is the lovely Nala! Winning resident Jodie from Indigo was very happy with the latest addition to her household.

To finish the fun, we held the popular Tec Marina raffle. The table of prizes has been filling up over the last few weeks with kind donations from our Tec Marina residents – up for grabs this year was everything from a delicious food and drinks hamper, a signed Wales rugby ball, and numerous bottles including gin, wine and champagne.

Tec Marina and Ayoa would like to thank all the companies for getting involved with baking, raffle donations, and for donating to this wonderful cause.

Charity events, like this week’s Children in Need activities, are just one of the many reasons we love working in our shared workspace.
